If the default fonts do not show up on a Debian-based Linux installation, try doing the following: sudo apt-get install gsfonts-x11

Windows Demo

This simple Windows XP demo will walk you through the entire process of installing and configuring Laszlo on your machine, then writing and testing a simple application. Please note that I positively do not advocate the use of any Windows operating system for development work. I'm providing this solely as a courtesy to some of my developers that, for one reason or another, happen to be working on a computer that runs the Windows operating system.
