On 10/30/2006 I ordered a battery for the MacBook Pro from FastMac. The total cost was $109.95. My sales representative was Darlene Conners. My invoice number was FM47676.
On 11/02/2006 I received the order. Upon opening the package i notice two corners of the battery were bent. i immediately called the company (408-850-6232). I spoke to Chris. I told him the problem AND emailed a picture of the battery with the bent corners. He said he would have my sales rep contact me for a replacement.
Darlene Conners called me back and asked me to ship the battery back to this address, which I immediately did:
FastMac
ATTN: RMA 48062
1245 Laurelwood Road
Santa Clara, CA 95054
It cost me $5.26 to ship the defective battery back to them.
On 11/15/2006 I called Darlene Conners at FastMac to inquire about my replacement battery. I had sent the defective one back under RMA 48062, but have not yet received the replacement battery. She said she would make sure one gets sent out to me today.
On 11/28/2006 I sent an email to sales6@fastmac.com asking about replacement battery because I still had not received it.
Later that evening Darlene called me back and said they were shipping out the replacement battery.
On 12/01/2006 I received the replacement MacBook battery. It, too, was damaged. I again took a picture of the damaged battery and sent an email along with the picture to sales6@fastmac.com. Here is a picture of the battery. The quality is not the best – I used my cell phone:
You can see that the metal on the corner of the battery is bent.
On 12/04/2006 I called FastMac because I had not received a reply to my email from 12/01/2006. I spoke to Chris again. I forwarded a copy of the message that I had sent on 12/01/2006 to support6@fastmac.com, which apparently is the email address that Chris uses. He said he would confer with his supervisor and call me back.
At this point I am waiting to hear back from them.
On 12/06/2006 I called FastMac because I had not yet heard back from them. Spoke to Chris. He said he had forwarded my information to his supervisor but that the supervisor had been busy. He put me on hold to check on it. Said it would be one or two more days for it to be resolved.
On 12/07/2006 Darlene called me from FastMac. She said they are going to ship a new (properly-packaged) battery. In the packing it will include a return mailer for the second defective battery. Lastly, she is going to have their accounting group credit me the $5.26 that I spent to return the initial damaged battery.
On 12/11/2006 I received a replacement battery. It was packed better than the first two and was not damaged. There was a DHL return slip in it. I boxed up the defective battery for return, affixed the label, and contacted DHL to schedule a pickup. The DHL pickup confirmation number is 113202. The waybill number is 41106023044.
I checked my credit card account to see if FastMac had credited the $5.26 for the first battery that I paid to return and they have not done so yet. Sent an email to Darlene Conners at FastMac letting her know that I received the new battery and scheduled a pickup on the old battery and reminded her about the shipping cost reimbursement for the first battery that I sent back.
Later that evening I received an email from Darlene Conners saying that the $5.26 has been refunded to my CC and that it should show up on my account within 48 hours.
