Just posted a brief article on my current tagging guidelines here.
Mikie and I had to drive to Port Arthur this Saturday to pick up some stuff for my brother-in-law. We met the captain and first mate on the Chemical Trader, a ship that is being decommissioned by the company that my brother-in-law works for. Capt. Garrity and Milton were the only two remaining crew members and were both charming. We got to tour the ship and Mikie took a lot of pictures.
Here is Mikie’s photo-set from our visit to the ship. Lots of great images.
On the return trip from Port Arthur we drove south on 124 from Winnie and stopped first at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge and then at High Island. Here are some pictures that I took:
Here are some pictures that Mikie took at Anahuac:
Here are some pictures that MIkie took at Smith Oaks on High Island. You really need to look at this set as some of the pics are truly spectacular.
These are some pictures that Mikie took on the Bolivar Peninsula. Very cool set.
Here is a Google map of the MS-150 route from La Grange to Austin:
Here are the lyrics in case you want to sing along…
Way out west (way out west) A story's told (a story's told) About a bunch of cowboys, tiny and bold (tiny and bold) Ridin' tall (Ridin' tall) Tall in the saddle Herding cows the size of schnauzers but they're cattle. Yippee-yi-yay mini sirloin burgers! Yippee-yi-yo mini sirloin burgers! Yippee-yi-yay mini sirloin burgers!
Yesterday I was a bit dissappointed that day one of our ride got cancelled but in light of this I am now somewhat mollified.
The sky is clouding up. The wind is freshening. It’s already sprinkling. I think we are in for some serious weather on the MS150 ride this weekend.
